Meaning ‘heaven’ in our local language, Mwamba is the quintessential African bushcamp.   Our intimate camp features just 4 rustic rooms, authentically recreated each year using woven reed, thatch and other natural materials.

Goliath Tented Camp is owned and run by the legendary Stretch Ferreira. It operates in the Mana Pools National Park on the banks of the Zambezi River and nestled in amongst a grove of Albida and Mahogany trees.

Each of the camps 7 luxury East African tent has twin beds with teak furnishings, wardrobe and dressing table. En-suite facilities include flush toilets, hot showers and a washstand. Public areas include a covered lounge and bar, an open-air dining area and campfire seating.

Large spanning decks are nestled and spread out between majestic acacia trees and the unmistakable “Mogotse” bush resembling the horns of a Gemsbok are customary to the Lodge’s ambience. The Central Kalahari game Reserve (CKGR) is the largest, most remotely situated reserve in Southern Africa, and the second largest wildlife reserve in the world, encompassing 52 800 sq kms.

During and shortly after good summer rains, the flat grasslands of the reserve’s northern reaches teem with wildlife, which gather at the best grazing areas. These include large herds of springbok and gemsbok, as well as wildebeest, hartebeest, eland and giraffe.

At other times of the year, when the animals are more sparsely distributed, the experience of travelling through truly untouched wilderness, of seemingly unending dimensions, is the draw.

The landscape is dominated by silver terminalia sandveldt, Kalahari sand acacias, and Kalahari appleleaf, interspersed with grasslands, and dotted with occasional sand dunes, pans and shallow fossil river valleys.

CKGR is unique in that it was originally established (in 1961) with the intention of serving as a place of sanctuary for the San, in the heart of the Kalahari (and Botswana), where they could live their traditional hunter/ gatherer way of life, without intrusion, or influence, from the outside world.

The camps tents are 4 x 3m Sahara style tents with high roof with a 2 x 3m en-suite bathroom and a 2 x 3m covered area in front of the tent. The tents are fitted with solid base camp beds made up with mattresses, sheets, duvets and pillows. The tents have en-suite long drop toilet facilities and a bucket shower at the rear of the tent. Showers can be ordered as hot, cold or warm and the water is heated in a bucket on the fire. Showers may be taken at any time but on Kalahari safaris the guide withholds the right to limit water use and showering depending upon the availability of water. Both hand towels and bath towels are supplied for the guests’ convenience but guests should bring their own personal items and toiletries.

Each tent has an oil/paraffin lamp on the veranda and in the bathroom and within the tent itself, a LED rechargeable camp light is supplied along with a side table in the sleeping area and in the bathroom. A family tent is a two-bedroom unit with an adjoining bathroom and lockable exit/entrance with each tent taking 2 people in each.

Simbavati Migration Camp is a beacon of luxury and adventure. This mobile camp moves its prime location twice a year, perfectly placed near the Mara River during the wildebeest migration, and just north of Lake Ndutu in the South of the Serengeti during the calving season.

Villa Grande is a warm-hearted Tuscan-style villa situated in the heart of historic Stellenbosch. You’ll find the shuttered façade of Villa Grande at the end of a quiet and leafy cul-de-sac. Light lunches and dinners can be arranged on request and feature creative cuisine that is a visual feast, as pleasing to the eye as to the palate. Wild Camping – we camp wild on an island for 1 night while canoeing on the Zambezi River. Wild camps have no facilities; we will need to take our own water and all equipment. Wild camping can be very enjoyable but please remember that we leave no trace of our stay and take all rubbish away with us. Toilets will be of the “dig and bury” variety. Sunway supplies all the camping equipment, except for your sleeping bag and pillow, which you need to bring. The dome tents we use are 2.2 x 2.2 x 1.8 metres and putting them up or down takes only 5 minutes. Tents have built-in insect nets. We supply mattresses, which are about 5 cm thick, warm and comfortable. The camp chairs have a backrest. You will need to bring your own towel. No Wifi. 

Chacma Bush Camp, enviably located deep within the heart of the lesser-known Maseke Balule Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger, offers the perfect big five safari experience in 8000 hectares of undulating landscapes dotted with rocky outcrops. This family-friendly camp sleeps a total of 10 people, and thus offers an authentic and intimate safari experience close to the Olifants River. Deep caves on the traverse with flecks of mica make for a unique geology and game drives traverse over these diverse landscapes. 

The camp’s perimeter is hugged by Mopane woodlands which are a major drawcard for a wealth of wildlife. Elephants, bushbuck, kudu and plains game are commonly spotted in these woodlands, and can be viewed from the comfort of the deck area surrounding the sparkling swimming pool. There's a natural waterlogged area in front of camp which provides wildlife with the much needed replenishment needed during the heat of the day. 

Evening times are spent swapping stories around the roaring campfire in the boma area, and dinners are spent indulging in traditional cuisine in the rustic lapa. 

Enjoy daily game drives in this 8000 hectare reserve, and special excursions such as sundowners, bush breakfasts at the river and star gazing can be arranged.

We cook all our meals from scratch and have our own organic vegetable garden. We have our own chickens for eggs, cows for milk and bake our own bread and we even make our own cheese.

Antbear Lodge also offers horse trails ideally suited to beginners. Hot air balloon flights that launch from the lawn in front of the lodge and our newest attraction is our star gazing hammock camp where we tell the Zulu stories of the stars.

Each chalet is equipped with a tea and coffee station, although please remember that as we are solar powered we cannot fit each chalet with a kettle, thus we have made provisions for this by supplying flasks of hot water whenever you might require it – even early morning. Please do advise reception of your requirements or request a flask should you want at any time of day.

Please note that as we are solar based, there are no electric outlets in the chalets, however, there is a charging station at reception for all your devices.

Located just 8 km from the Von Lindequist Gate on the eastern boundary of Etosha National Park, Mushara Lodge is an ideal overnight stop for visitors to the game reserve.

The lodge consists of ten spacious chalets, one family unit, a triple room and two single rooms. The name Mushara is derived from the Purple Pod Terminalia tree which grows abundantly on the lodge grounds and in the surroundings. Chobe River Camp is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts and birdwatchers, making it the perfect getaway.

Location: About 4 km from the Ngoma border post between Botswana and Namibia.

Set-up in an exclusive campsite in the Mababe concession that has a strict maximum of 20 vehicles for the whole concession at any given time. We get to explore the river banks, Kalahari shrub to the east, cathedral mopane to the south on game drives both during the day and at night. Exploring after dark with spotlights offers you an opportunity to experience some of the nocturnal animals that are rarely encountered during the day.

We will also have the opportunity to explore the surrounding wilderness on foot (please note that this activity is seasonal based on rains and grass height, your guide will determine the safety of walking in Mababe) to enjoy an up close and personal encounter with Botswana’s flora and fauna. It is important to note that night drives and guided walks are not permitted within the national parks and reserves. These activities are conducted outside the boundaries of the Moremi Game Reserve in the Mababe Private Reserve.

The camps tents are 4 x 3m Sahara style tents with high roof with a 2 x 3m en-suite bathroom and a 2 x 3m covered area in front of the tent. The tents are fitted with solid base camp beds made up with mattresses, sheets, duvets and pillows. The tents have en-suite long drop toilet facilities and a bucket shower at the rear of the tent. Showers can be ordered as hot, cold or warm and the water is heated in a bucket on the fire. Showers may be taken at any time but on Kalahari safaris the guide withholds the right to limit water use and showering depending upon the availability of water. Both hand towels and bath towels are supplied for the guests’ convenience but guests should bring their own personal items and toiletries.

Each tent has an oil/paraffin lamp on the veranda and in the bathroom and within the tent itself, a LED rechargeable camp light is supplied along with a side table in the sleeping area and in the bathroom. Although each tent has lighting and there are lamps strategically around the camp for navigation, an essential tool for your safari is a headlamp which lets you read a book at night in your tent or catch up with your safari journal as you listen to the sounds of the wild outside!

For families travelling with younger children on private trips, Letaka Safaris have designed a family safari tent, ensuring the children’s safety and their parent’s peace of mind. A family tent is a two-bedroom unit with an adjoining bathroom and lockable exit/entrance with each tent taking 2 people in each.

The Gomoti Plains is located in a community run concession, on the edge of the Gomoti river system southeast of the Okavango Delta. The Gomoti tree is locally known as the water fig and grows alongside waterways in the Okavango delta. It’s a smallish tree which sometimes grows no bigger than a bush. The area is known for its large concentrations of wildlife which thrive on the Gomoti plains and waterways. The Gomoti trees line the waterways and provide excellent cover for nesting water birds such as herons and storks.This exclusive area has been a well-kept secret for many years. The Gomoti region has been the local haunt of many of the older guides and Okavango dwellers who refer to it in nostalgic terms when they used to camp along this river system.This new camp has 10 luxury tents which include 2 luxury family tents and 8 luxury double tents, all with en-suite bathroom facilities.. In addition to day and night 4WD game drives, the camp offers water based activities such as mokoro excursions and motor boat trips.

Khama Rhino Sanctuary has a variety of accommodation facilities. We have facilities that are ideal for a family, individuals and for a group. We also have campsites that are ideal for anybody that wants to experience solitude and the sounds of the wild.

There are eight chalets to choose from located in different areas. Bedding &towels, braai facilities, bar fridge and electric kettle will be provided for all the chalets. Electric kettle and bar fridge is not available in the A-frame chalet since it does not have power. Basic cooking utensils are no longer provided. Clients can bring their own or use The Restaurant to buy meals. The chalets are A, B, C, D, E, F, G and A-frame.

• A & B accommodates two people each. They each sleep one couple, holding one double bed.
• C & D are located at Makongwa Camp, accommodates four people each and have two rooms and two beds in each room.
• F & G chalets are next to the restaurant area. Each chalet has two rooms and two beds in each room.
• A-Frame Chalet is situated on the edge of Serwe pan. This is a two storey chalet which sleeps up to six people. A- Frame has a separate bush toilet and a hot shower. This chalet was designed to give an African way bush life. This chalet does not have electricity, but lantern lamps are provided for lighting.

Beach Lodge is one of the few accommodation establishments in Swakopmund that are situated right on the beach and in fact you will not be able to get any closer to the sea than this. Enjoy the magnificent view of the sea from each room, listen to the restless waves and smell the fresh sea breeze.

Awelani means "place of rest" and this is exactly what this beautiful property offers visitors doing a road trip through the northern section of Limpopo province.  Situated 12kms from Kruger's Pafuri gate, it's ideally situated for those wanting to explore the famous Luvuvhu River Drive in the park.  Accommodation is in comfortable self-catering units and an onsite restaurant provides an alternative option for those not wanting to cook.

Also known as “Main Camp” it is the hub of the Park. This is where the majority of activities take place and where most of the accommodation offerings are located, and also where visitors will find The Park’s Shop and Cattle Baron Grill and Bistro.

A unique feature is the waterhole lookout point, floodlit at night, within the camp as well as the underground hide, allowing close encounters with wildlife at the waterhole. The evenings are punctuated with the calls of lion, spotted hyena and jackal while francolin and bokmakierie herald each dawn. Accommodation units are situated within easy walking distance of each other and of facilities such as the swimming pool, restaurant and shop.

'Intimate Camp Seronera' is an all-new camp which received its first guests as recently as July 2022 making it one of the latest additions to the collection of luxury camps to be found in the Serengeti National Park. It is located five kilometres (three miles) from Seronera Airstrip making it an ideal destination for guests flying into central Serengeti. GPS coordinates are -2.41598, 34.88811.

The camp is also only one hour’s drive from ‘Naabi Hill,’ the gateway to the Serengeti National Park for guests arriving by road from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Seronera River, the famous Hippo pool, the Serengeti Research Centre and the departure point for balloon Safaris are also all conveniently close by. 

‘Intimate Camp Seronera’ consists of 12 accommodation tents, each of which can be used for single, double (or twin) or triple occupancy. Each sleeping tent consists of a veranda, bedroom area, dressing area with ensuite shower and toilet. As an added convenience, each tent is supplied with electricity for lighting as well as for charging mobile telephones, cameras, tablets, laptop computers or any other electronic devices guests may carry with them. This electricity is harvested from the sun’s rays via a solar system. 

All accommodation tents, including 2 two-bedroomed family tents, are generously sized and are built on raised wooden platforms. They also provide guests with hot and cold running water night and day. As with the electrical supply and in keeping with our commitment to preserve the environments in which we operate, water is also heated by the sun’s rays via yet another solar system. 

The main part of the camp is well laid out to include a lounge tent as well as a dining tent, both of which are also built on wooden platforms. The lounge tent is furnished with comfortable settees and armchairs and is complete with a selection of Coffee table books, board games, a writing bureau and wireless internet connectivity so as to ensure that all guests needs are well catered for when they are not out enjoying game drives. The dining tent allows for individual as well as group dining and is home to a well- stocked bar which serves a selection of premium spirits, wines, beers and minerals, the cost of which is included in the accommodation rates. Guests may also enjoy their meals al-fresco in the camp’s grounds. Evenings are spent around the all-important campfire enjoying drinks and bitings whilst exchanging stories about the day’s exciting events and making plans for the day ahead. 

The main emphasis of the activities available at Intimate Camp Seronera’ is the extraordinary wildlife to be found in the Seronera area. This wildlife includes Lions, Leopard, Cheetah, Buffalo and Elephants to name just a few. The perennial waters of the Sero River are a huge draw for this wildlife year around and the camp is conveniently located to take advantage of the amazing spectacle they provide. Indeed, the camp often receives visits from some of these exciting animals!

Twice a year, usually in May and November, the extraordinary Wildebeest migration passes through camp on its way North and then South again. As everyone knows, this migration is one of the "Seven Natural Wonders of Africa" as well as the single largest mass movement of animals on the planet.

Zululand Lodge is located on a private wildlife concession bordering Phinda Game Reserve and offers tented, en-suite accommodation for up to 18 guests.  Situated close to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, iSimangaliso Wetland Park and the coastal town of St Lucia.

The Chalets

Xaoo Safari Camp is a tented camp, off of the tiny village of Xoxao in the Okavango Delta. The village is home to a diverse Batswana tribe which includes a combination of Basarwa, Bayei and Baherero natives. Situated seventeen kilometers west of Shorobe Village in to the heart of the eastern part of the Okavango Delta.

Six gorgeous luxury tented and raised chalets with a capacity of a maximum of three or four people per chalet (two adults and two children or 3 adults). The chalets are ideal for couples, small families, and friends. The chalets are well spaced apart ensuring privacy and a personal experience. The lagoon which is situated on the longest side of the property has an abundance interested small swamp animals e.g. fish, frogs, and these are a big attractant for those who feed on them.

Water-based and land activities are offered at Xaoo, and these are carried out just ten minutes away in a private concession that shares a border with the Moremi Game Reserve. The area boasts of an abundance of wildlife including but not limited to the Big five.
This private concession is a hidden gem, and guests get to experience very low volumes of tourists moving about, and therefore an intimate experience with nature. Activities include mokoro excursions, game viewing drive, walking safaris, cultural village tours, overnights on Island as well as at Khwai/Moremi, Elephant sanctuary tour, Helicopter scenic flights and massage spas.

Conservation

As a means of playing a part in conservation, the whole camp is solar powered. The vegetation in and around the lodge has largely been left as is with a view to preserve nature in its natural form. We fiercely protect and value everything from an ant to an elephant.

General living areas are open-plan with doors from both the kitchen and lounge leading out to different areas of the terrace. On one side of this central area there is a TV lounge with a plush couch and big screen TV, and on the other an entertainment room that will be of instant appeal to the younger members of the group. Filled with comfortable seating, a TV with gaming consoles, toys, and a football table, children and teens will find it difficult to tear themselves away. Doors lead out to the garden and terrace. There is another den on the level below, this one centred around sports viewing with both a TV and a full size snooker table.

Outdoor areas have been designed for any kind of weather with certain sections being under cover and others open to the sun. Interior décor is mirrored outside with the exterior lounge as comfortable as those inside. There are wood and gas barbecues, a trampoline, outdoor speakers, an enclosed swimming pool, and sun loungers to add to the enjoyment.

The upper level of the villa is devoted to the four bedrooms. Double doors open onto the impressive master suite with its corner position and stunning ocean and city views. The room is furnished with an extra length King-size bed and doors lead out to a private balcony. The spacious en-suite bathroom has a double volume ceiling allowing for large windows and a view of Lion’s Head.

The second bedroom has a high loft ceiling and offers plenty of space and light. It is furnished with a King-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The third and fourth bedrooms share a bathroom with both bath and shower. The one has a double bed, and the other is twin bedded.

Straddling its own grounds and the World Heritage Site is the Great Zimbabwe Hotel. Only a short walk away from the Monument itself, the hotel has its own tradition – The Great Zimbabwe Hotel is made up of 47 neat rooms all with wall to wall carpeting.

The Sedia Riverside Hotel is situated in Maun, Botswana on the banks of the Thamalakane River.

The Hotel offers a variety of accommodation ranging from hotel rooms, chalets and camping grounds. The guest rooms are all en-suite and have been cheerfully decorated with an individualistic African theme, each with its own private verandah overlooking the lawns. This Letaka tented Camp has a beautiful location near the Chobe River. 

The camps tents are 4 x 3m Sahara style tents with high roof with a 2 x 3m en-suite bathroom and a 2 x 3m covered area in front of the tent. The tents are fitted with solid base camp beds made up with mattresses, sheets, duvets and pillows. The tents have en-suite long drop toilet facilities and a bucket shower at the rear of the tent. Showers can be ordered as hot, cold or warm and the water is heated in a bucket on the fire. Showers may be taken at any time but on Kalahari safaris the guide withholds the right to limit water use and showering depending upon the availability of water. Both hand towels and bath towels are supplied for the guests’ convenience but guests should bring their own personal items and toiletries.

Each tent has an oil/paraffin lamp on the veranda and in the bathroom and within the tent itself, a LED rechargeable camp light is supplied along with a side table in the sleeping area and in the bathroom. Although each tent has lighting and there are lamps strategically around the camp for navigation, an essential tool for your safari is a headlamp which lets you read a book at night in your tent or catch up with your safari journal as you listen to the sounds of the wild outside!

The setting

Nestled against a low hill with sweeping views of plains and dolerite-capped mountains, Plains Camp blends into its natural surroundings whilst providing a front row view to this piece of paradise and its plentiful wildlife. Zebra, black wildebeest, springbok and gemsbok meander these plains, alongside giraffe, ostrich and cheetah — the tableau only further enhanced by the unmistakable call of the ground-dwelling korhaan bird.

The camp

Designed to touch the ground lightly and with sustainability in mind, the camp echoes the semi-permanence of mobile camps set up during safaris of yore. A communal mess tent houses an indoor dining and lounge space with open sides for soaking up the views. Antique and locally-made furnishings add a touch of authenticity to the setting without compromising on comfort, creating the perfect spot to cosy up with a book or binoculars. Lit by candlelight and oil lanterns, the camp has no electricity, but plenty of atmosphere. A small farm-style plunge pool provides respite from the midday heat.

The experience

A slow and considered experience focusing on guided walking safaris is designed to bring the semi-arid ecosystem to life. Daily morning bush walks focus on the little things so often ignored or unseen from the vehicle. Tracks, flowering Karoo bossies, ostrich eggs and beetles — all these natural wonders form part of the days sightings. In the afternoon, game drives provide an undeniable thrill as guests are able to get up close with cheetah, rhinoceros and giraffe under the supervision of expert guides and trackers. As the coolness of evening approaches, sundowners are just what the doctor ordered, followed by spectacular stargazing.

Guest tents

Four deluxe guest tents are positioned to enjoy spectacular undisturbed mountain views, providing a tranquil sanctuary to return to after a long day of exploring. Theres nothing quite like "champagne air" to make for a restful nights sleep! Tastefully furnished with all the essentials, the intimate bedroom and seating area are warmed by a small fireplace in winter and cooled by a fan in summer. A simple en-suite bathroom at the back of the tent contains an indoor loo, a washbasin and a separate open-air "bucket" shower — filled from the outside with hot water on request.

Dining

Simple, wholesome meals are cooked by the chef over the campfire and taken either in the well-appointed mess tent or al fresco under a Jacketplum tree. A bar in the mess tent stocks a variety of chilled drinks as well as tea, coffee and Amarula hot chocolate.

In the centre of a coffee plantation, surrounded by monumental trees, Arusha Villa is a great place to start (or end) your safari.  Hike through the coffee plantation and meet the local people in the nearby villages.

Arusha Villa consists of two buildings. The Villa contains six large double rooms and two family rooms with a maximum of five beds. Those family rooms can also be changed into luxurious suites. All rooms have beautiful views, a private balcony or terrace and, a large bathroom.

Our Farmhouse has four rooms, two double and two twin, each with a large, private bathroom. Every room has a veranda. All rooms can be interconnected. It is therefore also suitable for a large family or large groups.  The farmhouse is surrounded by an abundant amount of large trees where you will find monkeys playing around. Staying at the farmhouse offers a great quantity of privacy and the use of the facilities of the villa.

An extensive breakfast is always included in the price. Throughout the day complimentary coffee, tea and water is provided.

The Central Kalahari game Reserve (CKGR) is the largest, most remotely situated reserve in Southern Africa, and the second largest wildlife reserve in the world, encompassing 52 800 sq kms.

During and shortly after good summer rains, the flat grasslands of the reserve’s northern reaches teem with wildlife, which gather at the best grazing areas. These include large herds of springbok and gemsbok, as well as wildebeest, hartebeest, eland and giraffe.

The Onderhuis at Keurbosfontein is a historic family farm that nestles in the beautiful Red Cederberg 3km’s past Matjiesrivier on the back road to Wupperthal. The main farmhouse is almost 200 years old and is a rare remaining example of a traditional Cederberg farmstead and was carefully restored together with all the other old buildings on the farmstead by owner Johan van der Westhuizen in 2000.

Many of the traditions of the region are still practised here and the farm has an old-world feel that takes you back in time to a much simpler way of life. Electricity is not utilised on the farm by choice. Our intention is for guests to escape from the intensity of the city and experience the natural rhythms of day and night.

Known locally as the rose farm, there are over 40 varieties of roses that bloom spectacularly in spring alongside the wildflower season from August to October. On the farm, you will find pear, almond, fig, apricot, peach, guava, apples, pomegranates and oak trees, some of which are more than 150 years old next to the original water furrows that are still being utilised today.

A small greenhouse and vegetable garden has been planted and is bearing seasonal vegetables – guests are welcome to harvest produce from the farm to complement their meals.

Accommodation is limited to a maximum of 12 guests. (4 rooms with double beds and 2 rooms with 2 single beds in each) in the Voorhuis, the Stal (stable) and the Meulhuis (mill house). Whether you are 8 guests or just two, the Onderhuis at Keurbosfontein can only be booked on an exclusive basis, ensuring that guests have the farm to themselves for the duration of their stay.

A new addition to the farm by Justin Bonello is the WaenhuisKombuis, a purpose-built kitchen in the old waenhuis (wagon house) that has been designed to create a central entertainment area for guests. At its heart is a kaggel (interior fireplace) that allows guests to prepare their meals on the open fire in the comfort of the wagon house. In winter, the waenhuis doors can be closed to create a warm comforting kitchen and dining area, and in summer, the barn doors can be opened up to experience the wonderful still and star-filled evenings.

There are two pools on the property. In summer they both act as cool respite from the hot days and nights, and in winter for the brave at heart, they serve as ice-cold plunge pools.

The farm historically grew a full range of vegetables and climate suited fruits as well as garlic and tobacco commercially and the intention is that Keurbosfontein will serve as a historical reminder of bygone times.

Okavango Explorers Camp is an Explorer Collection safari camp located in the southwest of Botswana’s private Selinda Reserve. At the intersection of the upper Okavango Delta water system and the famed Selinda Spillway, the camp’s location is a unique combination of two iconic ecosystems. This area may be new to guests but has been known to us for many years as one teeming with wildlife.

The 130,000-hectare Selinda Reserve in northern Botswana is a prime predator and elephant habitat. This location has been handpicked for its access to some of the highest concentrations of wildlife in the region, along the southernmost section of Selinda Spillway. Expect mokoro trips in traditional canoes, fishing and visits to the local community village. Boat excursions are also availble, but only when the water levels are adequate (generally June/July) which you'd need to check beforehand.

There are lots of activities in the area, some offered by third parties – fishing, diving, snorkelling, markets, birding, photography, etc. etc. 

We are approximately 485km north of Maputo, 25km from Inhambane town, and 15km from Tofo, in Inhambane Province, Mozambique. All roads leading to the lodge are tarred, except for the last 4km, which is a well maintained gravel road. It has been hard packed with coral sand, making it easy to reach us with a normal passenger vehicle, without any difficulty. No 4×4 vehicle is needed but is good to have if you want to explore off the beaten track.

Detailed Itinerary: 1 night Nkwali Camp, 5 nights Mobile Walking, 1 night Nsefu/Tena Tena

Day 1: Nkwali Camp
On arrival at Mfuwe International Airport a guide from Robin Pope Safaris will meet you. The drive to Nkwali Camp is 1 hour through colourful local scenes of villages, agriculture as well as bush. Nkwali Camp has a wide view of the Luangwa River. Nkwali is located on Robin’s private land, overlooking the South Luangwa National Park and ideally situated for the start of your safari. The camp’s six rooms all look out over the river with open-air bathrooms. Depending on your arrival time during the day you will enjoy a lunch looking out over the lagoon or afternoon tea before the afternoon and night game drive.

Day 2: Mobile Camp
After an early breakfast, you will be heading north to start your walking mobile safari. Your drive is some 90kms to the Mupamadzi River along a bush road, through remote parts of the park. You arrive in camp for lunch around midday. The camp is already set up for your arrival with well-equipped walk-in tents. The shower is under a tree and the toilet is a long drop with a wooden throne. Enjoy a relaxing siesta after lunch, before tea and going for a walk around camp in the afternoon before returning for sundowners and dinner in the open under the stars!

Day 3: Mobile Camp
This morning will be up at sunrise for the morning walk to explore this remote and wild area with varied terrain and habitats where the game is shy and unused to man. From ants to buffalo, a bird’s nest to tracking a lion, you will learn the many facets of the bush. The mobile camp will be packed and moved to Camp 2 and lunch will be ready as you arrive late morning. Lunch will be followed by siesta and an afternoon walk.

Day 4 - 6: Mobile Camp
Day four will be spend exploring the area on foot before returning to the same campsite. On day five the camp will be moved again to camp 3 during the morning as you walk further down the river. The Mupamadzi River is a major tributary of the Luangwa. All walks are led by an experienced naturalist and accompanied by an armed game scout.

Day 7: Tena Tena or Nsefu Camp
After an early breakfast, transfer to the Luangwa River crossing point opposite Tena Tena. This is a 4 to 5 hour drive. Tena Tena staff will meet and boat the party across the river for a 20 minute drive to Tena Tena camp.

Experience the ultimate intimacy of the Leadwood Villa. As a sole-use option, this space grants you the privacy of staying at your own lodge within the magnificent grounds of Saseka Tented Camp, overlooking the seasonal Monwana riverbed.

Embrace the privacy of this exclusive-use accommodation for your whole family or small group. The main villa includes a tented suite, sunken outdoor lounge and fire pit, and an indoor lounge area.

With space for up to six people, accommodated in adjacent tented suites, you’re able to experience the luxury of the bush in a prime setting.

Papyrus is a small cozy, but stylish guesthouse in the suburbs of Entebbe, about 15 minutes from Entebbe International Airport. With 9 Deluxe Garden Rooms and 5 Standard Mainhouse Rooms, all ensuite, Papyrus is an excellent choice for bed & breakfast safari travellers wishing to spend a night in Entebbe. Trees and charming gardens surround its rooms to give guests a relaxed and private stay. The Guest House’s central location allows for some exciting guided activities, like hiking, city walks and biking, shopping, golfing, boat rides, birding, and sightseeing, all reached within a reasonable time.

Kavinga Safari Camp is located in a private concession within the southern boundary of Mana Pools National Park, approximately 1 kilometre upstream of the confluence of the Ruckomechi and Chiwuye Rivers. The camp overlooks the dry Ruckomechi riverbed and is set against the extraordinary backdrop of the Zambezi Escarpment. 

Kavinga consists of just 7 comfortable raised tents built on the edge of the cliff, facing east, with a view of the rising sun above the magnificent Zambezi Valley floor. Each tent has been designed with an emphasis on privacy and is surrounded by insect repellent gauze, allowing the air to circulate and contributing to maximum coolness. Inside each tent are 2 ¾comfortable beds and an ensuite bathroom with a dressing area. In front, a verandah falls in line with the edge of the cliff giving a feeling of infinite space. 

The Swakopmund Sands is a few minutes’ walk from the very popular Jetty and TUG restaurants as well as other tourist attractions and yet you have total privacy once on the premises. Each room is equipped with a flat screen TV, safe, heating, fridge, as well as tea and coffee facilities for your convenience.  A laundry service is available for same day delivery.

Each bathroom has a hairdryer and shaving facilities and all international power points can be used. In the morning you will be able to enjoy a sumptuous buffet breakfast in a very relaxing and tranquil dining area.

Perched on a hill are eight stone cottages, each with sweeping views of the Laikipia landscape. A large main house with open log fires hosts guests for relaxing cocktails and scrumptious meals, prepared from a creative menu with ingredients sourced from our own vegetable garden. An infinity pool offers lovely shaded areas and a casual alfresco dining area, while a waterhole set in front of the main house attracting a variety of wildlife that comes to drink. Guests can also make the most of Mugie Conservancy’s nine-hole golf course, which is perfect for enjoying a round between travel companions or alongside other golf-loving guests of ours.

Securing land for wildlife is a key conservation imperative in Africa today and Mugie Conservancy provides a key wildlife access route between the Laikipia plateau, the Mathews Range and the Samburu lands to the north and east. Vast acacia-dotted savannahs, olive forests and scrubby bush are a haven to a multitude of wildlife in plentiful numbers, including key endemic northern Kenyan species such as Grevy’s zebras, Jackson’s hartebeests, beisa oryxes and reticulated giraffes.

Mugie Conservancy is at the forefront of conservation, operating as a low-impact cattle ranch alongside preserving the delicate and productive eco-systems that host abundant wildlife.
