Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge

Picture
Country:  Botswana

Location: Okavango Delta

Style: Luxury Lodge

Activities: Land and water based

Situated in the oasis of the Okavango Delta, is the intimate Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge.   The 9 suites, designed with privacy in mind, are spread along the banks of a lagoon.

Rising high as the treetops, an open upper level of each suite offers you a lofty lookout with magnificent views over the Delta.   This is also an ideal venue to enjoy a private dinner under the stars.

The split level accommodation features a private deck, a bedroom, a deep, oversized bath, and a choice of indoor and outdoor showers.   Private plunge pools offer you welcome refreshment in the heat of the day.

You can discover the rich wildlife surrounding Xudum on early morning and late afternoon / evening game drives in an open air safari vehicle, accompanied by an armed guide and tracker.   These drives travel across floodplains, seasonal grassland, woodland, shrubland and savanna, tracking the Big 5, as well as a variety of other animals.

River cruises in mekoros or motorised boats explore the waterways of the Okavango in the company of experienced guides and offer fascinating details of the Delta's network of channels, fringed by dense reeds and papyrus.

Helicopter transfers and flights are available at extra cost.

An armed guide  accompanies you on interpretive bush walks in the surroundings of the camp, where you can investigate the sights, smells and sounds of the Delta.

Because the camp is unfenced, guests are required to be vigilant at all times and not wander through the camp at night unless escorted by a guard.

Access to the camp is by scheduled flights followed by a 45 minute game drive or by way of a 30 minute mokoro or boat ride (dependent on water levels and boat availability), when you can experience your first encounter of the watery wonders of the Okavango Delta.
