The North Luangwa is a designated wilderness park and as such is a prime walking safari area, therefore the main focus is almost entirely on conducting safaris on foot. All walks are accompanied by a wildlife scout.
The ‘normal’ routine is to do a walk in the morning and then again in the late afternoon. However, all day walks or extended walks with a picnic or lunch on the way can also be arranged.
Other activities include a very refreshing swim in the shallow, sandy-bottomed Mwaleshi River, fishing, a rhino lookout point, which is a hide with great views up and down the Mwaleshi, and day trips and picnics to the Mwaleshi Falls and the hippo pools.
Una’s Camp is a child friendly camp. However, the minimum age for children is 7, and only children 12 years and older are permitted to go on walking safaris.
