Location: Majete Wildlife Reserve
Style: Tented Lodge
Thawale Lodge is situated in Majete Wildlife Reserve, in the Lower Shire Valley.
The lodge, which is completely unfenced, overlooks a floodlit waterhole that attracts a variety of wildlife.
There are 6 double and twin tented en suite chalets each with its own private veranda overlooking the waterhole.
The more luxurious chalet has an open air bathroom built among the rocks with a shower and a sunken bath, also enjoying views of the floodlit waterhole.
Situated with full view of the waterhole is a luxurious family chalet with 2 en suite bedrooms, a lounge area, small kitchen and minibar.
The chalets are spaced out to offer you privacy and an individual bush experience.
Thawale is fully electrified, therefore all chalets are equipped with sockets, phone network and fans.
A communal lapa (traditional lounge area) with a fully staffed kitchen is available in the centre of the camp. Fresh meals are served in the thatched bamboo restaurant and bar, and a birding veranda overlooks the combretum forest and waterhole.
Activities involve game drives, boat safaris, cultural experiences, game walking and trekking.
