Tanda Tula (“to love the quiet”) Safari Camp is an owner-run tented game lodge situated in the heart of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, forming part of the Greater Kruger National Park.
Set on the banks of the Nharalumi riverbed, the camp is shaded by majestic trees and overlooks a watering hole. Consisting of 12 luxurious tents, this elegant camp combines comfort and style with African roots. All tents are completely private and surrounded by lush riverine bush, and include their own private decks complete with comfortable loungers enjoying views of the riverbed. Each tent features a beautiful en suite bathroom with a traditional Victorian bathtub and outdoor shower. In the evenings, dinner is served in the boma, under the stars in the garden or, for the more adventurous, in the riverbed which runs alongside the camp. Bush breakfasts are served daily at the bush site after which you can arrange a guided walk back to camp with the ranger. The infinity pool has a view over a large watering hole which is often frequented by a vast variety of wildlife. |
Highly skilled ranger and tracker teams guide you in the early mornings and evenings, in open Land Rovers or on bush walks. All walks are available for children aged 14 years and older.
Out in the bush is a hide on the Machaton dam where private picnics and star beds can be arranged, bringing you even closer to the wilderness. The hide is a double-storey wooden structure on stilts, with the top floor as the sleeping area and the lower floor utilised for storage.
It is rustic yet comfortable with an outdoor shower and toilet, and accommodates a maximum of 4 guests. As there is no electricity, oil lamps and torches are provided.
Bedding consists of a comfortable camper bed with linen, duvets and hot water-bottles during the winter months.
A unique 2 night walking safari itinerary is individually tailored to suit your requirements, offering an opportunity to sleep under the stars.
Children 8 years and older are most welcome.
