Sunbird Lodge
Set on private land between Nakuru and Gilgil, and above Lake Elementaita, Sunbird Lodge is named after one of the more than 450 species of birds in this area.
It offers 10 spacious en suite cottages built with natural materials and thatched roofs, each with a large private veranda from where you can enjoy spectacular sunsets and an unspoilt view over Lake Elementaita. Features include mosquito nets, safe and telephone. Dining is either in the restaurant, which also offers a marvellous view, or you can enjoy a pleasant outdoor experience under the stars (weather permitting) overlooking the swimming pool and Lake Elementaita/Soysambu. Two fire places will keep you warm during the cool evenings. Some of the activities include game drives in Nakuru National Park, balloon safaris followed by a champagne bush breakfast, or watching the sunset over the lake while you enjoy a sundowner. Massage treatments are also available, or you can take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool. The Lodge is within 20 minutes’ drive from Lake Nakuru National Park. |
