Stanley’s Kopje is a small camp situated on a rocky kopje overlooking the Mwanamboga water hole in the Mikumi National Park. This park is the gateway to the southern parks and is the third largest in the country.
Built on one of the few hills dotted about the extensive plain, the 360 degree views from the restaurant and bar on the top of the hill are quite spectacular.
12 en suite tents, all mosquito-proof, are spaced out around the base of the hill with open vistas stretching out as far as the eye can see. They are positioned on wooden platforms with thatched roofs and private verandas.
Power is available for lighting and recharging batteries but not for hairdryers.
Special diets can be catered for with prior notification.
Game drives are taken in open, adapted 4WD vehicles and conducted by trained and experienced guides.
Elephants, lions, wild dog, cheetah, leopard, large herds of wildebeest and buffalo, impala, zebra and giraffe are but a few of the various wild animals that inhabit this region.
