Simbavati Hilltop Lodge, sister lodge to Simbavati River Lodge, is situated in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, a wildlife-rich concession of land adjoining the western border of the Kruger National Park. Because there are no fences between these areas animals are free to roam between the reserves.
Accommodation is pure African safari comprising 8 individual pavilion-style luxury tents, arranged to create a unique village feel. Each of the suites consists of 2 individual tents – one tent for the main bedroom, and another for a separate bathroom, which is linked by a passage that can be opened up on one side leading to indoor and outdoor showers. Features include a private game viewing deck, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, mini bar with drinks and snacks, coffee and tea-making facilities, complimentary eco-friendly products, hairdryer, safe, laundry, and electric blankets for the winter period. Some suites are situated to maximise the breathtaking views and therefore are accessible via steep stairs. The mobility impaired are to please stipulate their needs. Guest facilities include a game-viewing deck overlooking the river, infinity pool, covered pool lounge, curio shop, a lounge offering a selection of books and board games, 360º bar, and Wi-Fi connectivity in the reception. |
Dinner with African-inspired cuisine is served on the deck or – weather permitting – around the fire in the open-air boma. Please note the dress code for dinner is smart-casual.

The lodge offers Big 5 game activities in the early morning and late afternoon/evening. Nocturnal creatures - including the big cats - are regular sightings at night.
Prearranged bush walks can also be provided.
There is an abundance of birdlife, with a total of 360 species of bird listed.
Regrettably no children under 12 years of age are accommodated.
