Serengeti Bushtops Camp

Picture

Country:  Tanzania

Location: Northern Serengeti

                     National Park

Style: Permanent Luxury Tented

             Camp

Serengeti Bushtops Camp nestles within the northern sector of the reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site spanning  over 14 763 square kilometres.  With the famous Mara River just 15 miles away, the camp lies directly in the path of the spectacular annual wildebeest migration, which takes place between June and November.

From Serengeti Bushtops you can witness life at its most raw, thrilling and captivating, from the awesome grandeur of the Big 5 to the shimmering glory of local birdlife – and from the vast herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles to the silent presence of solitary crocodiles.

Serengeti Bushtops provides accommodation under canvas in 12 large and luxurious tents. Each tent faces the sunset and is open on two sides, giving an extraordinary panoramic view of nature’s living masterpiece.

Bedecked with beautiful wooden flooring, each tent’s facilities include an en suite shower area, large private terrace, a hot tub, writing desk, 24-hour butler service, 24 hour power, and a dining table (if private dining is desired).  Complimentary massages are provided in  the tent whenever requested.

An elegant mess tent provides fine dining with striking views across the Serengeti plains.  There is also a contemporary lounge with a bar, and a library and a unique wine wall.

Environmental conservation is an essential part of the camp’s philosophy and daily good practice.   Serengeti Bushtops draws on solar power and underground water sources to meet many of  its needs – and a point is made of sharing the technology and resources with local villages.

However glorious the views and exceptional the venue, the main attraction at Serengeti Bushtops is the wildlife experience.

Under the direction of the camp’s excellent guides, the vast plains of  the Serengeti can be experienced in 4x4 vehicles during morning and afternoon or full day game drives.   Bush picnics or guided walking safaris can also be provided.

Back at the camp, you can relax in serene surroundings, enjoy a massage, have a cocktail by the fire, or make use of the library and internet facilities.

An à la carte gourmet meal can be partaken within the elegant open-sided mess tent while watching the sunset over the vast Serengeti.

To finish the day, a butler can bring refreshments to the tent’s private verandah, perhaps to be enjoyed while soaking in the sunken hot water tub.
