Sekenani Camp

Picture

Country: Kenya

Location: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Style: Luxury Tented Camp

Sekenani is a camp with a difference situated in the Mara Siana Wildlife Conservancy.  Its unusual setting on the side of a grassy ridge ensures you complete privacy and magnificent views of the hills and plains beyond.

The camp is built at the source of the Sekenani River which rises from a rock pool at the east end of the camp and forms the stream which flows in front of each tent.

All 15 en suite tents are raised on wooden platforms and set well apart amid lush vegetation.

A suspension bridge leads to the dining room, which is a log and canvas structure open at both ends to permit maximum light and air.   You can even enjoy some game spotting while dining on fresh gourmet meals.

A wide terrace, opening off the dining area, is another viewpoint where you can sit and enjoy a refreshing drink while listening to the sounds of Africa's birds and other creatures.

Game viewing is, for most people, the prime reason for visiting the Mara.   Camp vehicles, driven by experienced guides, are at your disposal.

Game walks are also available (at extra cost), escorted by Masai guides.
