Savute Under Canvas
Savute Under Canvas is a mobile tented camp which moves to a different and remote site every 5 or 6 days, ensuring that game drives always explore a new area.
Each of the 5 tents has an en suite bathroom and al fresco hot bucket shower. Shady veranda areas offer you a vantage point to view the smaller details of the local wildlife. The landscape around Savute has an arid, almost desert-like feel. Mopane forest gives way to acacia savanna, with rocky outcrops dotted around the landscape. Large areas of marshland that extended from the Linyanti River have dried up along with the Savute River, but several artificial watering holes attract a high concentration of wildlife. Daily game drives explore the mopane forests and acacia savanna of Savute during early mornings and late afternoons in open air safari vehicles accompanied by an armed guide. In the wet season, game drives traverse the open plains, where large herds of zebra and tsessebe can be spotted. In the drier season, game viewing is particularly good around watering holes, which attract large numbers of elephant. Dinners are served with bush meals cooked on the open fire. |

As the campsite is unfenced, guests are required to be especially alert at all times and are not permitted to walk through the camp at night without being escorted by a guard.
Scheduled flights operate to the Savute airstrip, where you are welcomed and transported to the camp during an hour’s game viewing en route.
