Perched on the top of the Kalama Mountains with an all-round view of northern Kenya to snow covered Mount Kenya, Saruni Samburu is 7 km from the northern border of Samburu National Reserve, a celebrated elephant sanctuary.
There are 4 houses, a large swimming pool with dramatic view over Samburuland, and a waterhole that attracts an abundance of wildlife found in Kalama, such as elephant, reticulated giraffe, zebra and oryx.
Activities include game walks, drawing safaris, visits to the caves with painted and carved rock art, bush dinners, star gazing and morning and night game drives inside Samburu National Reserve, Buffalo Springs National Reserve and Kalama Conservancy.
A Wellbeing Centre provides you with massage treatments conducted under the supervision of highly trained staff.
The cuisine offers a strong Italian flavour as well as Kenyan dishes, especially fish and vegetables. Saruni also caters for vegetarians and those of you who have special requests.
Saruni Samburu has its own private airstrip near the Kalama Wildlife Conservancy headquarters, but it is also easily served by schedule airlines that land at nearby Buffalo Springs airstrip.
