Sand Forest Lodge is situated on a nature reserve on the edge of an ancient sand forest and lies to the west of False Bay Park - part of the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park.

The Lodge is just 10 minutes from the village of Hluhluwe and 20 minutes from the Hluhluwe- iMfolozi Game Reserve.

Accommodation comprises a number of 1 and 2 bedroomed cottages, decorated in Afro-colonial style.   The en suite bedrooms are equipped with air-conditioning, mosquito nets, ceiling fans and are serviced daily.    Each cottage has a kitchenette with a fridge and private veranda with braai (barbecue) facilities.

Activities include open vehicle game drives among the Big 5, walking the fossil lined shores, canoeing or horse riding through the open water systems and coastal sand forest of a world heritage site, and Sodwana beach safaris.

Operating from June to November are exciting ocean boat rides offering you close up viewing of humpback whales on their way to the warmer water breeding grounds.

From November to March turtle tours are conducted in the evenings in search of turtles returning to their birth-place to lay eggs for the survival of their species in generations to come.

Tours on the Lubombo Mountains with its magnificent views of Zululand and surrounding areas are conducted during which you can learn about the people who inhabit this area.

The Vulazulu Cultural show transports you back in time to witness some of the old ways of the Zulu people and their impressive dances.
