Sabi Sabi Earth LodgeSabi Sabi Earth Lodge and its sister lodges - Bush Lodge, Little Bush Camp and Selati Camp - are in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, bordering the Kruger National Park.
Whilst invisible on arrival, Earth Lodge’s huge wooden doors open to a magnificent and uninterrupted vista. Metallic tones of gold, copper, silver, platinum and bronze are subtly reflected in the sophisticated furnishings which are in contrast to the rough, natural, textured walls. The lodge’s 12 luxurious suites, with their hand crafted furniture and natural fabrics, benefit from the masterful use of light and symmetry. Floors are adorned with Nguni hides and the handmade twig chandeliers with gilded metal branches give a soft light. En suite glass-fronted bathrooms with deep stone baths and indoor and al-fresco showers, lead to private plunge pools with lounging chairs to view the bushveld - secluded and intensely private, yet with 360° views of the surrounding landscape. The luxurious Amber Presidential Suite is equipped with a lounge, study, steam room and kitchenette. This accommodation is decorated in the colours of its name, and a grand amber bead chandelier creates a focal point. |
Each décor item at Earth Lodge is an original work of art, with the lines and shapes of furniture taking their cue from nature. Natural, earthy sisal rugs with metallic edgings of silver or dull gold soften the ivory coloured floors.
Wooden art pieces, fashioned from salvaged trees torn out of the bushveld by elephants and floods, take pride of place. Massive chandeliers - twigs from the bush replicated in gold, bronze and silver - are painstakingly assembled on site.
A quiet meditation garden leads to the award winning Amani Spa, while the underground cellar is of great interest to wine connoisseurs.
A ‘day bar’ is the perfect venue to view the parade of animals drinking at the waterhole.
Guests can doze on white muslin-enclosed salas, or relax at stone-topped tables inside the pool, cooling their feet in ankle-deep water, while enjoying cocktails and lunches.
Meals are served at a variety of dining venues: around the central ponds, in the seclusion of the magnificent wine cellar, or at night beside a roaring fire in the outdoor boma.
Earth Lodge offers thrilling safaris when you can experience many encounters with African wildlife.
