nThambo Tree Camp is in the heart of the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve which shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park.
This camp accommodates 10 guests in 5 "treehouse" solar-powered chalets each sleeping a maximum of 2 guests, ensuring ensures a personal and private safari experience. The thatched chalets, raised on wooden stilts, have timber flooring and canvas tent walls. Their private verandas overlook the endless plains in front of the camp. Each has the option of being made up with a double bed, or as a twin share (for friends or family traveling together). Rack wardrobes with coat hanger space and shelves for clothing, in addition to a writing desk, are just a few of the furnishings provided. All chalets are en suite with a shower and toilet, and a plug point is available for charging cameras. Daily game drives are led by experienced and professional game rangers through a wildlife area rich in game including lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo as well as hyena, hippo, giraffe, zebra and a whole host of other wildlife. |
Bush walks and night drives are also offered allowing guests to participate in a full spectrum of safari activities.
The Klaserie also boasts a plethora of interesting birdlife and is a haven for birdwatchers.
A thatched outdoor lounge and dining area provides beautiful views of the plain and small waterhole in front of camp, as well as the Drakensberg mountain range in the distance. WiFi is available in this guest area.
A traditional boma captures the true bush camp safari experience.
During the hot summer months guests can relax around the splash pool. Don't be surprised if you share it with a herd of thirsty elephants!
One of the unique advantages of a small safari camp is that the activities can be tailored to your specific needs. For example, if the guides hear lions roaring close to camp at night, they may knock on your door and invite you to go and find them!
