Ngala Safari LodgeNgala Private Game Reserve was the first private game reserve to be incorporated into Kruger National Park. It is home to all of the Big 5, but is particularly known for its elephant, buffalo and rhino, as well as its packs of wild dog.
Ngala consists of 2 luxury lodges: the classic colonial style Ngala Safari Lodge and the luxurious Ngala Tented Camp. Overlooking a waterhole and tucked under a canopy of mopane and tamboti trees, Ngala Safari Lodge has 20 classic thatched air-conditioned cottages, with shaded verandas, all ensuring the perfect privacy of your retreat. The 2 bedroom Family Suite offers you an exclusive family getaway with its own swimming pool, private view of the river and a dedicated butler, vehicle and ranger. Early morning and late afternoon / evening game drives in an open 4x4 safari vehicle traverse an area which shares an unfenced boundary with the world famous Kruger National Park. Tracking the Big 5, as well as a rich variety of other game, is conducted in the company of an armed ranger and tracker. You can also embark on interpretive bush walks, within easy reach of the lodge, which are accompanied by an armed ranger. |
An enormous weeping boerebean tree offers shade to breakfasts and lunches, while the boma creates a dramatic setting for fire-lit dinners.
The swimming pool rewards guests with a refreshing dip during the heat of the day.
Specialist safaris, custom designed for those who choose to go beyond the bounds of the traditional safari, are subject to availability of a specialist ranger and tracker.
