The 5 camps at Londolozi, Pioneer Camp, Founders Camp, Varty Camp, Tree Camp, and Private Granite Suites, are ideally situated within walking distance of one another over the space of one kilometre on the banks of the lush Sand River. The 3 Private Granite Suites offer bold, inspiring materials which mirror the extrusion of granite rocks that flank the camp while conveying the raw essence of Africa. A palette of silver, charcoal and elephant grey in a range of materials creates an elegant and contemporary setting. Spacious entrance-halls and clean lines with modern and sophisticated with floor to ceiling glass sliding panels frame the wilderness views beyond. Each suite has a private swimming pool and an outdoor bath with a view of the river. Activities include yoga where you are free to schedule a private yoga session in your room or in the shade of your deck, massage treatments, game drives, bush walks, bush breakfasts and adventure picnics, game tracking, birding, and astronomy lectures. |
If you wish for a more adventurous experience, why not spend a night cradled in the branches of a 1000 year old Ebony tree sleeping out under a clear, starlit winter sky. In the silence you can enjoy nature’s nocturnal orchestra and as the dawn chorus breaks, a golden sunrise lights up the phragmites reeds along the beautiful water course of the Sand River.
The Private Granite Suites can be booked individually or as a private camp for 6 guests, making it ideal for honeymooning couples or small groups.
Regrettably children under the age of 16 are not accommodated, unless guests book the camp exclusively.
On visiting Londolozi in 1992 Nelson Mandela saw the vision that was being lived by the employees and management in collaboration with nature.
Starting at the 1926 Sparta Camp, situated in the heart of Varty Camp, the short village walk is in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela, and allows guests to interact with many of the staff and their families who have lived and worked at Londolozi for over 30 years.
