The 5 camps at Londolozi, Founders Camp, Private Granite Suites, Varty Camp, Tree Camp and Pioneer Camp, are ideally situated within walking distance of one another over the space of one kilometre on the banks of the lush Sand River.
Pioneer Camp is set amongst the dappled shade of 500 year old ebony trees, and is the most secluded of Londolozi’s Luxury camps. Throughout the camp there is a pervading sense of history with faithfully restored memorabilia of photographs, old suitcases, silver, crystal glass and gramophones. It comprises 3 private suites with superb river views and is perfect for honeymoons and private getaways. The suites each provide air conditioning, private deck, private pool / Jacuzzi, fan, fridge, heater, Internet, lounge area, mini bar, outdoor shower, safe, tea and coffee station, underfloor heating, hairdryer and complementary Wi-Fi. This adaptable camp can also be converted into a private bush home for family groups of 6 – 12 people through linking glass sky walkways into interconnected family units. |
The spacious entrance-halls and clean lines with modern and sophisticated with floor to ceiling glass sliding panels frame the wilderness views beyond.
The bathrooms are classic Victorian with modern accents in the marble, chrome and mahogany finishes
Facilities include a nearby gym, restaurant, internet access, and spa. Activities include yoga where you are free to schedule a private yoga session in your room or in the shade of your deck, massage treatments, game drives, bush walks, bush breakfasts and adventure picnics, game tracking, birding, and astronomy lectures.
If you wish for a more adventurous experience, why not spend a night cradled in the branches of a 1000 year old Ebony tree sleeping out under a clear, starlit winter sky. In the silence you can enjoy nature’s nocturnal orchestra and as the dawn chorus breaks, a golden sunrise lights up the phragmites reeds along the beautiful water course of the Sand River.
The Cubs Den is a children’s programme uniquely tailored for each child.
Babysitting, laundry and room services are also available.
On visiting Londolozi in 1992 Nelson Mandela saw the vision that was being lived by the employees and management in collaboration with nature.
