Country: Botswana Location: Okavango Delta Style: Luxury Tented Camp Activities: Land and Water based (Seasonal) Located on Hunda Island and nestled amongst a canopy of trees overlooking a seasonal riverbed, Little Tubu Camp offers an exceptional and intimate bush experience for just 6 guests.
It is an adjacent and exclusive sister to Tubu Tree Camp. The 3 traditional-style tents are on raised wooden platforms, each with a private viewing deck, an outdoor shower and en suite bathroom facilities. Elevated walkways link the tents to the main dining, bar and pool areas that are designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding environment and maximise the Okavango views. It will be possible to utilise one of the rooms at Tubu Tree to accommodate a private party of 8 at Little Tubu. Wildlife seen here includes elephant, lion, Burchell's zebra, red lechwe, southern giraffe, tsessebe, and blue wildebeest on the floodplains. Kudu, impala, leopard and bushbuck are also seen in the forested areas. The variety of bird life is impressive, with dry-land species seen on the large islands and all the wetland birds seen on the floodplains and waterways. Throughout the year day and night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles are available. There are 2 platform hides in the concession, offering you up-close game viewing. |
During winter the water levels around the camp rise and the floodplains become covered with water (normally May to late September). This allows for a wide range of water activities from boating and fishing to mokoro trips.
