Lake Masek Tented CampCountry: Tanzania Location: Serengeti National Park / Ngorongoro Conservancy Style: Luxury Tented Camp This luxury tented camp is located by the shores of Lake Masek in Ndutu, situated between the vast plains of the Serengeti National Park and the northwest side of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. There are 20 luxury tents with en suite facilities, and either king sized beds, twins or triple beds. Each tent is built on a raised wooden platform with a verandah from which guests can observe the wildlife visiting Lake Masek. The bedroom area is ample and tastefully furnished. The bathroom area with twin washbasins, a standalone bath and an outside shower is separated from the bedroom area by way of a screen, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing bath or take a shower under the stars. The main house has a lounge and dining area and a large verandah overlooking the lake. The lounge is decorated with comfortable sofas and armchairs grouped together to create intimacy, and meals are served in the dining area or on the verandah from which you can enjoy uninterrupted views of Lake Masek. There are 4x4 vehicles based at the camp offering fantastic game drives in the area. Bush breakfasts and/or cocktails can be arranged in private areas of the park upon request. The camp is located one-hour drive from the important Olduvai archaeological site where the Leakeys made important discoveries. This is a visit that you should not miss. |
Also, escorted hikes give you an extraordinary opportunity to walk together with a very experienced Masai Guide who will introduce you to their culture and everyday activities. A visit to a Masai house (boma) can be arranged as well.
