Kwalape Safari Lodge

Picture

Country:  Botswana

Location: Chobe National Park

Style: Luxury Lodge

Kwalape Safari Lodge is situated between Botswana’s northern towns of Kazungula and Kasane.   It offers the perfect base to discover the wonders of Chobe River and Chobe National Park with its vast wildlife populations.

Established in 1968, this national park covers approximately 11 700 sq kms, encompassing floodplains, swamps and woodland.   It is best known for its concentrations of elephants – some 120,000 individuals.

Kwalape is only an hour away from the magnificent Victoria Falls and 1 km away from where 4 great African countries meet (Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana) making Kwalape an ideal location from which to explore.

A variety of accommodation options caters for different travel requirements and styles.   These are separated in different areas of the grounds and all with access to the natural gardens.

Chalets and executive rooms are available for guests requiring a bit of luxury and comfort.   Those traveling on a budget can choose the comfortable safari tents or, for the more adventurous, camping sites are provided.

All the facilities at Kwalape are open for use by safari tent clients, including the restaurant, bar, swimming pool, activity centre and curio shop.

A laundry service is available on request.

If you require a little pampering, try the massage and beauty treatments in the comfort of your room.

Last but not least is the Boma where the Kwalape Dance Troop regularly entertain you with traditional dance and song accompanied by live music.

Undoubtedly one of Africa’s most beautiful rivers, the Chobe supports a huge diversity and concentration of wildlife.

Kwalape Safari Lodge offers magnificent opportunities to get up close to the wildlife populations both on and off the river, with daily sunrise and sunset boat cruises and game drives.

The spectacular sunsets provide you with a photographic paradise!

The banks of the Chobe throng with hippos and crocodiles, herds of antelope, buffalo, and many many more.   Elephants regularly swim across to graze on the island.

Birding is also excellent, with a vast variety of migrants visiting from November to March.

Several excursions can be arranged which include fishing trips as well as day trips to the majestic Victoria Falls named by the locals Mosi-oa-Tunya - “smoke that thunders.”

These Falls will take your breath away!   The mighty Zambezi plunges into a narrow, mile long chasm, with excellent views to be had on both the Zambian and Zimbabwe sides.   It is easy to see why this is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

For an unbelievable aerial view, take a helicopter flight over this Wonder – it will be a trip of a lifetime!
