Kungwe Beach Lodge
Kungwe Beach Lodge is positioned along the golden beach under the tropical shade of the Mahale forest with breathtaking views over the crystal clear waters of Lake Tanganyika.
The light and spacious traditional safari style tents, scattered along the beach, all have en-suite bathrooms with open-feel showers and a full range of guest amenities. Most meals are served in the raised thatched mess, built in the shape of a Dhow boat, which also offers a cozy lounge area with a small selection of books and board games for lazy afternoons. Barbeque candlelit dinners are served on the beach to the unique sounds of Africa - beetles, crickets and the night calls of chimpanzees. An amble through the forest trails produces close encounters with birds, primates, monkeys, small predators and butterflies. In addition to chimp trekking, there are boat safaris, kayaking, fishing excursions as well as snorkelling in the shallows of the lake. |
