Kicheche Mara Camp, on the Olare Orok stream, is hidden in the picturesque Acacia Valley of Mara North Conservancy.
It is a classic, intimate, luxury bush camp completely unfenced, with 8 canvas guest tents. These spacious, fully insect-proof Selous style tents (8 twins/doubles) are all furnished with cedar beds, bedside tables, luggage racks and rugs.
En suite bathrooms include a dresser, shower and flushing toilet and running water. Triple tents and family tents (1 double & 2 single beds) are available on request.
The large lounge tent, with its comfortable local furnishings and informative collection of reference books, offers you relaxation between game drives and other activities.
All meals and drinks are taken al fresco in a clearing overlooking the plains or, in the event of bad weather, in the spacious dining tent. The cuisine is Western/European with occasional African dishes. Dietary requirements are catered for and mineral water is daily provided in each tent.
There is 24-hour lighting enabling camera and video batteries to be charged. The camp souvenir shop offers a selection of Masai crafts, clothing, maps, and miscellaneous items.
Game viewing drives are conducted in open-sided and open roofed customised 4WD Land Cruiser vehicles. Good walking shoes or boots and natural safari colours are recommended for game walks which are escorted by a Kicheche guide with a radio, and an armed ranger.
Trips to the local Masai villages are on offer for those interested in Kenya's unique culture.
There are daily flights to an airstrip which is a 20 minute drive away. The camp is a 5 hour drive from Nairobi.
