Kiba Point is an exclusive private camp in the heart of the Selous Game Reserve.
It is set on the banks of the Rufiji River with only 4 open-fronted rooms which are tucked away in the shade of the riverine forest on the banks of this mile-wide river.
Each room comes with an en suite bathroom, hot and cold running water, flush toilet, mosquito nets around the beds, and in-room safe. Plunge pools are on every deck.
Charging sockets are available in the rooms for charging equipment. However, hairdryers unfortunately cannot be used in camp.
Daily laundry is done in camp, but please note that laundry facilities are quite basic and ironing is done with a coal iron.
Other facilities consist of a bar, mess area, and swimming pool.
Cell phone coverage is possible in certain areas.
The huge variety of game throughout the Selous includes lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo - with crocs and hippos in and along the river. In addition are the illusive black rhino, wild dog and an array of river and bird life.
Because the Selous has so many different habitats, there are many choices of safari activities such as boating, fishing (for tigerfish and catfish found in the river), walking, game drives, and fly camping.
With your own dedicated guide you will have complete freedom to explore the Rufiji River, its tributaries and sand channels, and to discover the lakes and woodland of this quiet area of Northern Selous.
Kiba Point welcomes children over the age of 8, however only children from 12 years can participate in fly camping and walking activities.
