Khwai Tented Camp is situated in a private community-run concession on the eastern border of Moremi Game Reserve.
It has all the romance of a mobile camp as there are no permanent structures. Everything can be removed to leave the wilderness exactly as found, with little or no impact on the environment.
The camp consists of six en suite tents all dotted along the lagoon for the utmost privacy. .
The Khwai River forms a boundary between the reserve and the community area, and as the sole source of water for miles around attracts wildlife from afar.
Game drives in open 4x4 vehicles are on offer as part of the daily activities. Exploring after dark with spotlights gives you an opportunity to discover the nocturnal animals which are rarely encountered during the day.
There is the added opportunity to explore the surrounding wilderness on foot and enjoy a close encounter with the flora and fauna.
Day trips to the Moremi Game Reserve can be enjoyed, as well as mokoro trips (on request as this is outsourced directly to the community).
Wildlife encountered includes lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, as well as a multitude of other animals, including elephant, buffalo, zebra, hippo and giraffe.
The minimum age accommodated at Khwai Tented Camp is 7 years
