Katavi Wildlife Camp
Katavi Wildlife Camp is located in the best game area at Ikuu on the banks of the Katuma River. It opens out onto the biggest plain - Katisunga - which is the middle of the 3 main plains that form Katavi National Park.
Katavi National Park is universally recognized as one of the few truly remote and untouched regions of Tanzania’s immense conservation areas, and has the highest density of hippos and the largest crocodiles in all of Tanzania. At Katavi Wildlife Camp, 8 tents are cunningly set back in amongst the trees that line the floodplain, providing both shade and camouflage in the prime game viewing area of the park, where the wildlife is unaware of your presence. Each tent is built on a wooden platform and shaded by an extended thatch roof. They are all mosquito proof, and feature en suite bathrooms with showers, flush toilets, and basins. Power is available for lighting and recharging batteries but not for hairdryers. The bar lounge has perfect views out across the plain where many lions are witnessed as there is a resident pride close by. As the Katuma River is close by a daily parade of animals pass in front of the camp on their way to drink. |

Game drives are taken in open, adapted 4WD vehicles.
