Gunn's Camp
Gunn's Camp in the Okavango Delta overlooks the legendary Chiefs Island and borders the Moremi Game Reserve.
Set under leafy palms and African ebony to blend naturally with its unique surroundings, Gunn's Camp achieves a fine balance of comfort without isolating guests from the sights and sounds of the wilderness. Accommodation consists of 6 deluxe Kenya-style meru tents on raised platforms discretely positioned within the densely treed island ensuring privacy and tranquillity. Each tent has been traditionally furnished with an eclectic mixture of solid wood and African furniture and features a lounge area and private veranda. They are equipped with en suite bathrooms featuring stand-alone baths and outside private showers. The accommodation area is connected to the main camp via raised wooden walkways crossing the wetlands. At night these walkways are magically lit by a series of fairylike lanterns. Guests have access to the elevated bar, lounge and dining room, campfire boma and swimming pool. Activities include mokoro excursions, bush walks, and motor-boat sunset cruises. |

If you wish to experience the thrill of island camping, the camp managers will pack your mokoro with basic camping equipment and food in order for you and your personal guide to find an island where you will set up camp. The evening will be spent preparing dinner around the campfire in the company of Africa's nocturnal wildlife.
