Governors' Il Moran Camp

Picture

Country:  Kenya

Location: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Style: Luxury Tented Camp

Il Moran Camp is situated along the banks of the Mara River, right in the heart of the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Hidden under ancient trees, deep in the forest, are 10 tents which line the winding banks of the Mara River.   These large luxury tents, with extended verandas, feature ‘king size’ beds fashioned from ancient fallen olive trees, en suite bathrooms with Victorian style baths, large shower, twin basins, flush toilet, and running hot and cold water.   Lighting is by gas and paraffin lamps

During the day, you are served meals on the banks of the Mara River under the giant evergreen trees.  Candlelight dinners are in the open dining tent or al fresco overlooking the river.

Bush breakfast, lunch and dinner can be organised on request at a  supplementary cost.

Activities available are daily game drives, morning and afternoon game walks (champagne bush breakfast and afternoon sundowners and canapés are available at additional charge), balloon safaris (followed by a bush breakfast also at additional charge) as well as cultural visits to a local school and nearby Masai village.

There are day excursions to Lake Victoria by light aircraft.   Bird watching, boat rides, walking and fishing are provided on Lake Victoria and a holiday highlight is the overnight stay at Mfangano Island Camp.

Children over 8 years old are welcome.
