Exeter River Lodge is set in a leafy, evergreen thicket on the banks of the Sand River in the Sabi Sand Reserve, which shares unfenced borders with the renowned Kruger National Park.
Each room, with outdoor showers and private plunge pool, offers panoramic views of the water and the wildlife it attracts.
Early morning and late afternoon or evening game drives are in open 4x4 safari vehicles. The Big 5, as well as a rich variety of other game, are tracked in the company of an armed ranger and Shangaan tracker.
In between game drives, you can embark on leisurely and interpretive bush walks within easy reach of the lodge which are conducted by armed rangers.
Lunches are provided on open air decks within sight of the river whereas dinners are served around a blazing fire in the boma or al fresco in a bush setting.
Scheduled flights between Johannesburg and Sabi Sand are approximately one and a half hours. Transfers by road to and from Johannesburg take 5 – 6 hours.
