Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge
Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge comprises 8 stone bedrooms, 2 of which are double-roomed family units.
As its name suggests, staying at this beautiful lodge will have you soaring in the clouds as the mist rises above the lush forest beneath your room. Each room has its own en suite bathroom, hot and cold running water, as well as electricity and a cosy fireplace. Outside sitting areas, with comfortable “laid back” chairs, all have unobstructed and at the same time unobtrusive views of the forest below. The main area, housing the reception, dining room, shop and bar has 6 fireplaces to keep it warm and comfortable throughout the day. Soft and plush finishes include commissioned artwork from Ugandan artists which adorn the walls throughout the lodge. Views from the main balcony stretch across to Rwanda and the Virungas as well as across the border towards Goma in the distant Congo. Activities involve gorilla trekking, guided forest walks, birdwatching and visits to the local community. |
