Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero borders Chobe National Park, home to the world's largest remaining population of elephants.
This luxurious riverside retreat in the heart of the bush has 15 guest cottages each with its own private garden where guests can sip cocktails after a day of game viewing, or enjoy a private dinner served under the African sky.
The cottages all have indoor and al fresco showers as well as large freestanding bathtubs in the bathrooms.
The main area, with its split-level swimming pool, commands sweeping views over the Chobe River. As well as the elephants for which the park is famous, there are also huge herds of buffalo living in the teak forests that are characteristic of the area.
Twice daily game drives in open-sided 4 x 4 vehicles led by qualified professional guides bring you close to elephants, hippos, buffaloes, lions, various antelopes including puku (a small rusty-brown antelope), and numerous other creatures that gather on the banks of the Chobe River.
Sundowner cruises are a marvellous way for you to see wildlife at close range as they venture out from shady spots to graze in the cool evenings.
At extra cost, a luxurious and full service spa offers a range of treatments and rituals to relax, restore and revitalise guests.
