Chada Katavi is on the edge of the Chada Plain located in the Katavi National Park, western Tanzania.
Here you will find concentrates of wildlife such as buffalo and elephant, hippos and crocodiles.
Accommodation consists of 6 spacious tents, raised on platforms, with en suite bathrooms, eco-flush toilets, bucket showers, and hot/cold water available on demand.
All tents have mosquito-proof windows and doors. The wide-open fronts and lots of shade net windows let in the passing breeze.
As there are no charging plugs available in the tents, charging can be done centrally in the library.
Regrettably hairdryers cannot be used in camp.
Please note that laundry facilities are quite basic and ironing is done with a coal iron.
Facilities in the camp are a safe in the manager’s office, a bar/library, and mess area.
Because there is no cell phone coverage, the camp is in HF radio contact with the main Nomad office and has a satellite phone in case of emergencies.
Chada Katavi is perfectly placed to explore Katavi's fragile seasonal rivers, open plains and woodland, where the focus is on wildlife. The action is rarely far from camp.
With your guide and an armed scout, you can enjoy both game drives and bushwalks. In addition there are fly camping, bush picnics, and birding.
Chada Katavi welcomes children over the age of 12 only.
