Bakubung Lodge is in the malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park which is set in the crater of a long extinct volcano.
This park offers you sightings of a wide diversity of animal and plant life, which includes 360 species of birds, the Big 5 and a host of other South African wildlife such as lions, elephants, white and black rhinos, buffaloes, leopards, zebras, hyenas, giraffes, hippos and crocodiles.
The 76 rooms are all en suite with a shower, and include air conditioner, direct dial telephone, tea/coffee machine, colour TV (with DStv bouquet), hairdryer, plug for electric shaver and internet connectivity.
Each room has a door leading onto either a balcony or a patio, and enjoys panoramic views of the park and the hippo pool.
The restaurant caters for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and on specified nights the boma serves a bush braai (barbeque) in the park.
Other guest facilities are a bar, conference centre, swimming pool, Internet lounge, 2 floodlit tennis courts and a volleyball court.
Apart from game drives, bush walks, birding and in-house entertainment, Bakubung Lodge has developed the Junior Ranger’s Programme. This allows parents to enrol their young ones in a unique, educational and, most importantly, fun experience, under the supervision of trained staff.
