Arumeru River Lodge is built on an old coffee plantation near Arusha.
Accommodation, in a tropical garden, comprises 21 chalets with terraces, and includes showers, mosquito nets, fans, and one complimentary bottle of drinking water per day. In-room WiFi is at additional cost, and hairdryers are available on request.
The main guest area has an open fireplace, the Safari Bar, Migration Restaurant, and the Terrace Restaurant with spectacular views of Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru.
Spend some lazy hours at the large solar-heated pool which is surrounded by palm trees and tropical vegetation.
Here you will find a wealth of birdlife - guinea fowl, hornbills, kingfishers, ibis, weavers, mouse birds, sunbirds, as well as the rare vulturine.
Small dikdik antelopes that live on the premises roam freely around the chalets and can be seen at close range.
A variety of activities (extra cost), one of which is exploring the nearby rainforest with a Masai guide, can all be booked at the lodge at short notice.
