Daily game and night drives in open 4x4 Land Cruisers offer you sightings of much game including the more nocturnal animals, such as the rare brown hyena, aardvark, bushbaby, and porcupine. Game drives and walks can be combined.
Ant’s Nest is an exceptional venue for weddings where the ceremony can be held either in a pretty thatched church designed by Sir Herbert Baker in 1914, under a shady acacia tree or even in the natural bush on top of a mountain; it is also a popular honeymoon destination.
Activities provided in the area include mountain biking, target or clay pigeon shooting, massage treatments, or swimming in the lodge pool.
You can be transported to a game reserve for sightings of the ‘Big 5’, or taken on an elephant safari where you are able to interact with a number of trained African Elephants, after which you can experience a ride through the bush on elephant-back with an experienced elephant handler.
A tour of Bushman paintings and Iron Age villages as well as a farm tour are also available.
Children of all ages are most welcome at Ant’s Nest where they are encouraged to accompany parents on all game viewing activities. Specialised kids "bug" and "spoor" walks have been created introducing children to the various species found in the bush.
