7 Day Kenya Classic Small Group Safari


Living up to its name, this safari shows you the classic scenery, wildlife and cultures of Kenya, and all at a really affordable price.

This small group itinerary has multiple departures each week, and can be easily combined with extensions to Tanzania or the coast, after visiting the Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli.

Day 01        Arrive Nairobi

On arrival in Kenya today at Nairobi International Airport you will be met and transferred to your city hotel for your first night in Africa.
Accommodation:        Option A: Nairobi Serena Hotel
                                       Option B: Safari Park Hotel
                                       Option C: Eka Hotel

Day 02        Nairobi ~ Masai Mara

This morning you will join your small group and depart Nairobi for the Masai Mara Game Reserve, where you will have an afternoon game drive before heading to your lodge for the night.  You will spend the next 2 nights at a lodge in the Masai Mara.

Day 03        Masai Mara Game Reserve

Today will be spent on morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara.

This morning there is the option for a hot air balloon safari over the Mara plains.  (This must be booked in advance and costs US$450 per person.)
Option A safari includes Mara Serena Hippo Pool breakfast this morning.

Day 04        Masai Mara ~Lake Nakuru

From the Masai Mara you will drive this morning to Lake Nakuru National Park, where you will spend the afternoon on a game drive, making the most of the wonderful birdlife and rhino sightings.

                                        Option B: Lake Nakuru Lodge
                                        Option C: Lake Nakuru Lodge

Day 05        Lake Nakuru ~ Amboseli

From Nakuru you will journey today to the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, to spend the next 2 nights at Amboseli National Park.

Option A safari includes a guided bird walk this morning.

Day 06        Amboseli National Park

Today will be spent on morning and afternoon game drives inside Amboseli.

Day 07        Day of Departure

Your tour ends today as you drive back to Nairobi where you will be dropped off for your onward travel arrangements.

This tour is the first half of the 13 Day Best of Kenya and Tanzania, so if you have the time, why not continue exploring East Africa by visiting the northern safari circuit of Tanzania.

Alternatively it would be great to add on a beach extension on the Kenyan coast, or an exciting gorilla trekking adventure in Rwanda or Uganda.
