 7 Day Discover Uganda Tour

This is a small group safari for between 4 and 7 travellers with all nights accommodated in permanent tented camps or lodges in some of Uganda's prime National Parks, including Lake Mburo, Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth and Kibale.

You will have both gorilla and chimpanzee tracking experiences as well as game drives and a walking safari.

Day 01        Arrive in Kampala

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be met and transferred to the Karibu Guesthouse, where you will spend your first night on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 02        Kampala ~ Lake Mburo

After breakfast you will head southwest to Lake Mburo National Park. On the way you will pass the Ugandan Equator where you can take pictures and shop for a souvenir. From here you continue to Igongo Cultural Centre where you also will have lunch.
In the afternoon you enter Lake Mburo National Park. Check in at your accommodation located on the top of a hill and enjoy the wonderful views. In the late afternoon you will go on a game drive to get a closer look at the surrounding wildife. Dinner and overnight at Rwaboko Rock.

Day 03       Lake Mburo ~ Bwindi

After an early morning walking safari you depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National
Park
, known to host half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas.  You will spend 2 nights at Silverback Lodge on a full board basis.

Day 04        Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

GORILLA TRACKING - this is it, this is the day you have been waiting for!  Get up for an
early breakfast and off you go on your adventure after the gorillas.  Imagine venturing
closer than 5 metres to these primates.  It won’t be easy, but it certainly will be worth it.

Day 05     Bwindi ~ Kibale Forest

After an early breakfast you head today to another tropical rainforest. En route you will pass the vast savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will go in search of the tree climbing lions. Enjoy a picnic lunch before proceeding towards the foothills of the “Mountains of the Moon” and finally reach Kibale Forest National Park, for an overnight in the middle of the African jungle, where you will spend 2 nights at Primate Lodge Kibale on a full board basis.

Day 06        Kibale Forest

Today the forest opens its doors for a sensational chimp tracking. Kibale Forest is reputable of having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others. After a hearty lunch you transfer to Bigodi Village for a community walk that will bring you closer to the local tribe that lives in this area. Accompanied by a local guide, who can tell you everything about the traditional customs and lifestyle, you will follow the village path and visit a primary school, traditional homesteads and learn more about the crops.

Day 07        Day of Departure

Time to say goodbye to the Pearl of Africa! After breakfast you calmly drive back towards the capital city with lunch en route. Look out for the black-and-white colobus monkeys which are hiding along the road. From Kampala you continue to Entebbe where you will be dropped at the International Airport in time for your flight.
