Day 01 Arrive JohannesburgOn arrival in Johannesburg you will be met and transferred to the Protea Hotel Wanderers. Here you will spend 1 night on a bed and breakfast basis. In the evening you will have a briefing about your tour.

Day 02 Johannesburg ~ MpumalangaDepart Johannesburg after breakfast and travel to Pretoria where you will have a short orientation tour of the city, South Africa’s executive capital. Then you will head to the eastern side of the Highveld Plateau through the historic towns of Dullstroom and Lydenburg. After traversing the famous Long Tom Pass, you travel via Sabie and arrive late afternoon at Perry's Bridge Hollow Boutique Hotel for 3 nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 03 MpumalangaAfter an early breakfast you will visit the edge of the Escarpment and the viewsite at God’s Window then explore Bourke’s Luck Potholes. You arrive back in Hazyview early afternoon where the remainder of the day is at leisure to relax or join an afternoon game experience.

Day 04 Mpumalanga ~ Kruger National ParkLeaving early this morning with a packed breakfast you will enter the Kruger National Park for a morning of game viewing in an open vehicle. Search for the ‘Big Five’ (rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, and elephant) as well as prolific birdlife and numerous other game. Returning to Hazyview around lunch time, you will have the afternoon at leisure. Late afternoon open vehicle game drives are available (optional and for your own account).

Day 05 Mpumalanga ~ SwazilandToday you briefly leave the Republic of South Africa and enter the Kingdom of Swaziland, where you will enjoy a cultural visit with the Swazi people. You travel via the capital city, Mbabane, and on to the beautiful Ezulwini Valley for a true African shopping experience at a craft market. The 1 night will be spent in the Ezulwini Valley at the Royal Swazi Sun with full board.

Day 06 Swaziland ~ KwaZulu NatalAfter breakfast, you continue south through Swaziland, before re-entering the Republic of South Africa. Travel into scenic Zululand, passing traditional round huts and endless vistas. There is an option to enjoy an afternoon open vehicle safari (optional and for own account) in the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve, which contains an immense diversity of fauna and flora and is particularly famous for its conservation of black and white rhino. Here you will spend 1 night at the Anew Hotel Hluhluwe on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 07 KwaZulu NatalThis morning enjoy a cruise on Lake St Lucia (weather permitting) before departing for Durban. Following the coastal road you will arrive in Durban in time for a leisurely afternoon. You will spend 1 night at the Protea Hotel Umhlanga on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 08 KwaZulu Natal ~ Garden RouteYou will have breakfast this morning before being transferred to the Durban Airport for a morning flight (not included in price) to Port Elizabeth . With a new tour director, you will drive along the scenic Garden Route with the indigenous Tsitiskamma Forest and several spectacular gorge crossings being highlights of the trip. You will reach the scenically located town of Knysna in the late afternoon and spend 2 nights at the Rex Hotel on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Day 09 Garden RouteAfter a leisurely breakfast you’ll enjoy a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve (weather permitting), where you can take a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head to enjoy panoramic views of the town and lagoon, returning for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure to further explore this charming town set around a natural harbour lagoon.

Day 10 Garden Route ~ OudtshoornThis morning after breakfast you will enjoy the spectacular Outeniqua Pass en route to Oudtshoorn, the centre of the South African ostrich industry for over a century. You'll visit an Ostrich Farm for a guided tour and light lunch, before taking a tour of the spectacular limestone caverns of the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders, sculpted by nature through the ages. You will arrive at the Hlangana Lodge in the late afternoon for 1 night on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 11 Oudtshoorn ~ Cape TownEarly this morning there is an option to enjoy a Meerkat Safari (for own account and subject to availability). After breakfast, the journey continues through the ‘Little Karoo’ to Barrydale, where you will have the opportunity to visit a local farm school and interact with the children and teachers, before travelling to Montagu, a picturesque and historic spa town. (The school visit is subject to the school being open). You continue on to Cape Town, spectacularly set at the foot of Table Mountain. You will be accommodated at the Protea Hotel President for 3 nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 12 Cape TownToday you will enjoy a full day at leisure or perhaps join a sightseeing tour (optional and for your own account). Although a small city, Cape Town is packed with sightseeing attractions, excellent bars, cafes and restaurants as well as colourful craft markets. Alternatively relax on one of Cape Town’s many pristine beaches. Enjoy an evening of delicious Cape food, captivating theatre and entertaining tales and songs about the people of the Cape.

Day 13 Cape TownToday you will have a full day after breakfast on a tour of the Cape Peninsula, winding through some spectacular coastal scenery and taking in a stopover at the fishing village of Hout Bay. You will have an opportunity for a boat trip to Seal Island (own cost) before you visit the Cape Point Nature Reserve. On the return leg to Cape Town you will see the penguins at Boulders Beach (entrance fee for own account) as well as Fish Hoek fishing village and Muizenberg.
