13 Day Namibian Wonders Safari

This itinerary will take you to some of the best locations in the vast country of Namibia.    You will see unique scenery and animals and stay at luxurious and unusual places.    This itinerary combines road journeys through the central, northern, and western parts of the country with scenic flights to your destinations in the deserts of the south.

Day 01        Arrive Windhoek

Today when you arrive at the Windhoek International Airport, check through customs and immigrations and continue through to the arrival hall, where a representative will meet you and transfer you to Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia.   You will spend 1 night at the Hotel Heinitzburg on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 02        Windhoek ~ Okonjima

After a relaxed breakfast, you will be picked up by your guide to depart on your guided safari.   After a drive of less than 3 hours you will reach Okonjima Game Reserve where you will spend 1 night with  dinner, bed, and breakfast included.  This is the home of the Africat Foundation which rehabilitates cheetahs, wild dogs, hyaenas, and leopards.  You will have an afternoon activity, choosing from: Cheetah tracking on foot and the Cheetah Project; Leopard tracking; Birding; Photography and the Bushmen trail.

Day 03         Okonjima ~ Onguma, Etosha

Enjoy your morning game viewing activity and brunch before continuing to the eastern side of the Etosha National Park where you will be accommodated for 2 nights on a full board basis at Onguma - The Fort.

Day 04         Onguma, Etosha National Park

You will enjoy a full day viewing the diverse wildlife and dramatic vistas inside the Etosha National Park and the Onguma Game Reserve.

Day 05         Etosha National Park

You will have a full day in the Etosha National Park and transferring during your game viewing drive to Okaukuejo Camp where you will spend 1 night on a full board basis.

Day 06         Etosha ~ Damaraland

Today you will continue on a scenic drive to the rugged Damaraland area and the Mowani Mountain Camp where you will spend 2 nights with full board.   This area boasts magnificent desert scenery, fascinating geological formations, archaeological sites and a unique variety of desert fauna and flora. It's also the southernmost roaming ground for the rare black rhino and desert elephant.

Day 07         Damaraland

Today you will have the opportunity to visit the Twyfelfontein, Burnt Mountain and Organ Pipes area.  A nature drive with your guide in search of the desert elephant and the elusive black rhino resident in this area will also be enjoyed during your stay here.

Day 08         Damaraland ~ Swakopmund

Today you will leave Damaraland and continue to the picturesque coastal town of Swakopmund. Lunch will be enjoyed en route and you will be accommodated for 1 night in the Hansa Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.   You will be free to explore the town and perhaps partake in some of the activities available and sample some of its dining venues.

Day 09         Swakopmund ~ Sossusvlei

After spending some time along the coast, your guide will transfer you to the Swakopmund airport for your light aircraft flight (seat rate) to the impressive Sossusvlei area, departing at 14h15.  Lunch will be for your own account.  Your guide will transfer any excess luggage to Windhoek.  You will spend 1 night at the Sossusvlei Desert lodge with dinner and breakfast fully inclusive.

Day 10         Sossusvlei ~ Namib Desert

Enjoy an early morning guided excursion to the towering dunes of Sossusvlei.   Here you will be able to view and climb some of the highest dunes in the world, some of which measure up to 325m from its base.  You will then continue deeper into the Namib Desert to spend 3 nights at the unique Wolwedans Dunes Lodge on a fully inclusive basis.

Day 11 & 12         Sossusvlei ~ Namib Desert

Each morning, awake to enjoy coffee/tea on your private verandah, with an unequalled view of the beauty around you before a delicious breakfast in the early morning sunshine.  Then board the Land Rover and experience the unique NamibRand Nature Reserve landscape during a morning and afternoon excursion through the dunes, endless grassy plains and along mystical mountain formations. You could encounter large and small desert animals, learn about their unique habits and explore the ancient hunting spots of the Bushmen.

Day 13         Day of Departure

After a sumptuous breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip and commence on your return Dune Hopper flight to the Eros Airport at 09h00.  Upon arrival at 10h15 you will be met and transferred to the Windhoek International Airport, in time for your outbound flight.
