Day 11 Day of DepartureAfter clearing through Kigali International Airport you will be met by your guide in a private 4x4 vehicle and transferred to the Inside Afrika Boutique Hotel where you will spend 1 night on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 02 Kigali ~ KisoroThis morning after breakfast you will be briefed on your Safari before visiting the Kigali Genocide Museum & Memorial, followed by early lunch in town. You will then journey north through the beautiful terraced hillsides characterizing much of Rwanda’s landscape, gradually climbing to the base of the awesome Virunga Volcanoes. By mid afternoon, after clearing through the Ugandan border, you will proceed to the town of Kisoro. You will spend 1 night at Travellers Rest Hotel with full board.

Day 03 Kisoro ~ NkuringoAfter breakfast you will be guided on a 3 hour crossing of Lake Mutanda in traditional dugout canoes followed by a picnic lunch at the Rwajenge landing site. Your 3 hour rural walk begins in earnest with a near 900m assent. On clear days exceptional views of Lake Mutanda, Virunga Volcanoes and the rugged ridges of the western arm of Africa's Great Rift Valley, including schools, churches and homesteads, are visible. For the final 10km of your excursion you will be transferred in a 4x4 vehicle to Nkuringo Gorilla Camp to spend 3 nights on a full board basis.

Day 04 Bwindi Impenetrable ForestToday you will have the unforgettable experience of gorilla tracking. Looking deep into the expressive brown eyes of the Gentle Giants of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest surely is the most exciting and poignant wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer. The effort needed to reach Bwindi and to trek through the forest pales into insignificance.

Day 05 NkuringoAfter breakfast you will take part in the Nkuringo Community Walk led by local guides, which includes a visit to the Nkuringo Hill View point where you will have a 360 degree view of Bwindi, the Virunga and far into the DRC Congo. You will be introduced to local trees and birds, visit a local Primary School, observe sorghum beer being produced, visit a homestead, see the blacksmith at work, visit the women's craft centre and round off your excursion with some traditional dances performed by the Nkuringo Youth Initiative Group.

Day 06 Bwindi Impenetrable ForestAfter breakfast today you will undertake a guided walk through the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest on the 6,5 hour Ivy River Route. The walk ascends and descends gently through beautiful areas of the rain forest with several viewpoints overlooking lush mist shrouded valleys. The trail is also an important footpath for local people. Monkeys, duikers, bush pigs and some of Bwindi's world renowned bird species plus many butterflies can be observed. You will arrive in Buhoma in the course of the afternoon to spend 1 night at the Engagi Lodge on a full board basis.

Day 07 Bwindi ~ Queen Elizabeth

Day 08 Queen Elizabeth National ParkYou will have a full day to experience the prime game viewing area of Western Uganda. A network of tracks enables you to find elephants, buffalo and other animals in the grassland thickets. You will also visit the main breeding ground of the Uganda Cobs on which prides of lion prey. This afternoon you will enjoy a boat cruise on the 32 km long Kazinga Channel which attracts a varied range of animals and birds and boasts one of the world’s largest concentrations of hippos.

Day 09 Queen Elizabeth National Park ~ KibaleToday you will travel with a packed lunch across the Equator and via the Crater Lakes Area following the lower slopes of the Ruwenzori Mountains to the dense Tropical Rainforest of the Kibale Forest National Park. In the early afternoon you will check-in at the Kibale Forest Camp where you will spend 2 nights on a full board basis. This afternoon you will enjoy the opportunity of a cultural village walk organized by the Bigodi Community.

Day 10 Kibale National ForestToday you will experience a sensational full day Chimp Habituation Experience, starting as early as 5h30. Watch them waking up and coming out of the nest, then follow their daily activities and get as close as possible to them. You will have the amazing privilege of observing the chimpanzee behaviour and habits for the entire day, heading back to the lodge between 18h30 and 19h30 when the chimpanzees will prepare for the night.

Day 11 Kibale National Forest ~ EntebbeAfter breakfast you will visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run initiative aimed at conserving the unique biodiversity of the wetland which features 8 primate species, numerous other interesting mammals, over 200 bird species, many reptiles, and uncounted varieties of trees, shrubs and vines. You will have early lunch at the Kibale Primate Lodge before setting off to Kampala through rolling hillsides with tea plantations and the Ruwenzori Mountain Chain on the background. Upon arrival in Kampala you will be transferred to Entebbe where you will spend 1 night at the Airport Guesthouse on a bed and breakfast basis.
